What Are Card Pools in Marvel Snap?
Every player in Marvel Snap has a “Collection Level”. Whenever you upgrade a card’s quality, you can increase your collection level accordingly like such:
- Upgrade to Common +1
- Upgrade to Rare +2
- Upgrade to Epic +4
- Upgrade to Legendary +6
- Upgrade to Ultra +8
- Upgrade to Infinity +10
Based on your collection level you get access to a different pool of cards.

This deck is super easy to play as it’s pretty straightforward. Also, it doesn’t really require you to have any cards that you cannot get very early in the game for free as I’ve mentioned above. Ok, all that is good but, how exactly does this deck work? Let’s break it down.
Key Cards
Devil Dinosaur is a 5-cost card with 3 base Attack. Nothing amazing so far. Its power comes through its ongoing passive which grants Devil Dinosaur +2 power for each card in your hand. That means the more cards you have in your hand, the stronger he gets.
Moon Girl is 4-cost card with 4 base Attack. Her on-reveal effect will duplicate your hand. You can already see the combo here. Ideally you want to have Devil Dinosaur in your hand when Moon Girl’s effect activates. This way, you’ll get an extra copy of Devil Dinosaur and since it costs 5 energy, you can play it on turns 5 and 6.
How to Play the Dino Moon Deck
The reason why this deck is very strong is because it allows you to challenge two locations very fast. If everything works out and you have Moon Girls and Devil Dinosaur in your hand on turn 4, you can have a Devil Dinosaur with at least 13 power to play in turns 5 and 6. It’s a very simple yet effective strategy. That’s why in my opinion this is the best Marvel Snap deck for beginners.
Of course, this is a card game and sometimes you just have bad RNG and you can’t get the cards that you want. That’s where the other cards in this deck come into play. Hulk, Ironman, Jessica Jones are there to offer alternative options.
Armor and Cosmo are cards to help you secure the locations that you want to challenge. They are not necessarily cards that you play for their power, but for their utility. With that said, if you pair them with Ironman, then it’s a different story.
Scarlet Witch is another utility card that you are only going to use it to remove unfavorable locations and surprise your opponent. Mods like “Cards destroyed on Reveal”, or card effects like Storm etc, all can be removed with Scarlet Witch.
What You Shouldn’t Do
I see many people make this mistake: They overload their deck with cards that adds more cards. Why is this wrong since you want to have many cards in hand for your Devil Dinosaur (DD) you might be wondering.
OK, let me explain. You can only have 7 cards in hand at most. In an ideal situation, you want to have 3 cards in hand when you play Moon Girl (Devil Dinosaur in your hand, obviously). The whole strategy is to get another copy of DD so you can play it in turns 5 and 6. It’s important to remember that Moon Girl copies your hand in the same order and it can’t exceed 7 cards.
So, if you have let’s say 4 cards in hand, and Devil Dinosaur is the 4th card, Moon Girl’s effect won’t get you another copy of DD. It will only copy your first 3 cards. That is important to remember when you are playing this deck.
Playing this deck I achieved Diamond+ in every season since the game was launched. It’s pretty easy and somewhat meta-proof, at least for now. With that said, of course as you level up and get more cards, there are ways to improve this deck but this is a post for beginners.
