The next Illusion Connect character guide is for Maki, a powerful Attacker who is the first-ever character to have Awakening available. Maki is an important character in the game’s story since she’s basically best friends with Miyuki, another well-loved character in the game.
When it comes to her strength, Maki is probably not as strong as Kasumi or some of the newer Attackers, but she’s still a force to be reckoned with especially if you give her all the right equipment and Awaken her. In a full Attacker team with Nightmare Hunter Leader, she truly shines, since she will greatly benefit from all the increases to ATK that she gets.

Maki’s skills (max)
Passive: Maki’s attack in battle increases by 15%, and on death, 220% damage is dealt to the enemy Leader.
Lineup Skill Activation Requirement: Average lineup Energy is less than or equal to 14.
Activation Effect: When Ally partner dies, Maki deals 100% ATK DMG to enemy Leader.
Unique: Attacks a single enemy and deals ATK*550% damage. Has a 80%/25% chance to trigger 1-hit/2-hit combo, dealing 135% / 100% damage.
Special: Attacks a single enemy dealing 162% damage. If the target is an enemy partner, then deals additional damage equal to 50% of the damage dealt to the enemy Leader. Chance to use skill 30%.
Normal attack: Attacks a single enemy and deals ATK*105% damage.
Lens Recharge Stats
- 3* effect: Increases basic ATK and HP by 10%
- 4* effect: Increases basic HP by 20% | Unique skill deals damage equal to ATK*500%
- 5* effect: Increases basic ATK by 20% | Passive skill increases ATK by 15%

The Best Equipment for Maki

In my opinion, this is the best equipment for Maki in Illusion Connect. She needs a lot of basic ATK since all of her skills scale exceptionally well with it. You can also go for some Crit Bonus, to further enhance her attacks.
My choice of weapon is either Butterfly Hunter, Dragonhowl or Heart Piercer (UR), but you can also go for Nightmare Hunter or even her own, Reversed Blade (or the UR version of it for money). For armor, I like Robe of Hiikawa (UR), Butterfly Rattan Shirt, Sakura Yukata and Distant Memories altogether.
Now for the boots, the best is probably Scarlet Warboots, but Mordred’s Boots (UR) is a good choice as well. As for the accessory, Fiery Shawl is truly great. Rosy Abstinence (UR) is also good if you don’t use it on someone else, and Beginner’s Necklace (UR) or Eternal Spinning Top (UR) could also work.
